Collection: Psittacosaurus Fossils
Discover our collection of authentic Psittacosaurus fossils, one of the most recognizable dinosaurs of the Early Cretaceous. Living approximately 125 to 100 million years ago, Psittacosaurus was a small herbivorous ceratopsian, considered an early relative of later horned dinosaurs such as Triceratops.
Named after its distinctive parrot-like beak, Psittacosaurus was perfectly adapted for feeding on vegetation. Unlike its larger descendants, it walked primarily on two legs and lacked the large horns and neck frill that later ceratopsians would develop.
Most Psittacosaurus fossils come from the famous Yixian Formation and surrounding deposits in northeastern China. These deposits are renowned for their exceptional preservation, producing beautifully detailed fossil.
